Not Sure Where to Start After Stroke?
You don't need to understand the whole of Stroke Health Fitness before you can find something useful.
Start with where you are today, what you're dealing with and what you'd most like help with.
We'll help you find the parts of SHF that are most relevant to you.

MY STROKE JOURNEYYou don't need to solve everything today
Stroke can suddenly introduce a huge number of questions.
Some people arrive at SHF wanting to understand why they're still exhausted.
Someone else may want to know whether they can return to a gym.
Another person may be several years beyond their stroke and wondering what else they can still improve.
Partners and family members may have completely different questions.
Choose the level of support that suits you
1. Explore SHF — Free
Browse practical information covering stroke, recovery, exercise, nutrition, healthy living, support and lived experience.
EXPLORE SHF2. Ask SHF — In Development
We're developing a more personalised way to ask questions in ordinary language and find information relevant to your own circumstances and goals.
JOIN EARLY ACCESS3. Talk to Neil — Coming Soon
Sometimes it's easier to talk. We're developing an optional private video conversation centred on lived experience, confidence and navigating life after stroke.
I'M INTERESTEDAsk SHF is coming
As Stroke Health Fitness grows, we don't want people to have to search through dozens of pages trying to work out what applies to them.
Ask SHF is being developed as a more personalised way to navigate the platform.
You might eventually be able to say:
“I had a stroke 18 months ago. I'm back at work but still get exhausted and I'd like to start exercising again.”
Ask SHF could recognise that you're interested in fatigue, returning to exercise, confidence and work — then help you find relevant SHF information and trusted external resources.
Ask SHF isn't intended to diagnose conditions or replace doctors, rehabilitation professionals or emergency care.

Sometimes it's easier to talk
I'm also developing Talk to Neil.
The idea is a simple private video conversation for stroke survivors or people supporting somebody after stroke.
It would focus initially on lived experience, confidence, motivation, navigating SHF and talking about life after stroke.
It isn't intended to be a medical consultation, diagnosis, physiotherapy or clinical rehabilitation service.
TELL ME YOU'RE INTERESTEDTalk to Neil — planned

Please remember that social media isn't suitable for urgent help or individual medical advice.
FACEBOOK INSTAGRAM TIKTOKJoining SHF is only the beginning
Today, joining Stroke Health Fitness simply means keeping in touch.
Over time we're exploring how SHF could become much more personal.
Your SHF
Future user accounts could allow you to save useful information, record interests and return to the parts of SHF that matter most to you.
Your Pathway
Rather than everybody following the same route, SHF could help users build a more personalised pathway around their questions, challenges and goals.
Life after stroke. Moving forward.
You don't have to know exactly what you need before you start.
Choose the question or goal that matters most today and begin there.
